UAP LEDGER

Editor

Austin Stout

Austin Stout edits UAP Ledger and is accountable for what it publishes, including the summaries written with AI assistance.

I built UAP Ledger because the government has started releasing UAP records faster than anyone is reading them, and the files were landing in places that were hard to search and easy to misquote. The site exists to put the primary documents, the congressional record, and the people involved in one place, and to link them to each other, so that a claim can be traced back to the paper it came from.

What I am, and what I am not

I am not a journalist, a government insider, or a researcher with access to anything you do not have. I have no private sources, and this site publishes no information that is not already public. Everything here comes from documents the government has released, and every page links to the original so you never have to take my word for it.

What I do is build and maintain the record, and hold it to a standard that is written down and enforced in code rather than promised. On a subject this prone to embellishment, I think a stated method you can check is worth more than a credential you cannot.

What I do to a page before it goes live

Summaries on this site are drafted by an AI from the text of the source document, and are then checked against that document, by a second model and by code, before anything is published. A draft that makes a claim the source does not support, or uses a number that does not appear in it, is not published at all. The full standard, including the parts of it that are less impressive than they sound, is on the methodology page.

I am responsible for that pipeline and for what comes out of it. When it publishes something wrong, that is mine, not the model's.

Corrections

If a page says something its source does not, I want to know, and I will fix it. Corrections are made by fixing the process that produced the error, not by quietly editing the page.
